The 212 Society is an American non-profit organization dedicated to
cultural and educational exchange between the United States (New York
City in particular) and Morocco (the city of Tangier in particular). The
212 Society will support, organize, equip, and finance educational and
cultural activities, in collaboration with sister organizations in
Morocco, with a special emphasis on film and cinema.
The 212 Society is formed solely for charitable and educational purposes
within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Our mission is to:
1. Promote cultural diversity and understanding by
supporting the screening of important films of the past and present in
Morocco and the United States.
2. Organize and support, with money and
materials, educational and cultural programs run by accredited nonprofit
sister organizations in Morocco, including the Cinematheque de Tanger.
3. Make film, media, and artistic equipment accessible to students,
scholars, schools, and associations.
The 212 Society's specific strategy to achieve this mission is to:
1. Organize programs in collaboration with the Cinematheque de Tanger,

2. Loan film-related equipment
(e.g. projectors, video cameras, editing hardware, computers) for use by
the CDT and other accredited nonprofit cultural and educational
organizations in Tangier.
3. Finance and equip carefully selected
programs of accredited nonprofit cultural and educational organizations
in Tangier. (e.g. film festival screenings, seminars, documentary
films.)
